Academic Decathlon
Academic Decathlon is an elective that receives one credit and counts as an advanced course for grade points earned. In this program, students prepare for a rigorous academic competition where they compete both as individuals and as a team. The competition covers ten categories (art, economics, language & literature, math, music, science, social science, essay, interview, and speech) that focus on a theme, which changes annually. Some past themes include the 1960s: A Transformational Decade, Africa, World War II, India, World War I, the Great Depression, the French Revolution.
